Rally Postponed

Jackson, Mississippi Hip-Hop artist David Banner has announced that a planned community rally has been postponed due to safety issues related to the unanticipated number of people who will attend the event.

Banner’s Heal The Hood Foundation was to hold the Something’s Wrong Community Rally today (October 20) as a response to the growing violence amongst youth in Chicago’s streets.

According to Banner, the event was supposed to attract almost 700 people but demand to attend the event was so strong, that the rally was postponed to accommodate the swell of new people.

"This is a movement not to condemn kids or any organizations but the safety of the kids is my biggest concern, we want to stay on task and continue what we’ve started, we want everyone to have the opportunity to contribute," Banner said in a statement.

Artists expected to participate in David Banner’s Something’s Wrong Community Rally include Twista, Malik Yusef, Naledge, Tiffany of Bad Girls Club and J-Niice of B-96.

The goal of the event is to develop solutions to the problem of youth and gang violence and how unity can be fostered throughout various neighborhoods in Chicago.

T Pain too cocky?

Heres an article from allhiphop that might suggest so:

-Pain’s performance at South Africa’s annual Macufe African Cultural Festival has been lambasted by local artists for the star’s alleged elitist and disrespectful behavior.

Several artists have reported that they were kicked out of the backstage changing area because T-Pain refused to share space with them.

Others stated they were harassed simply for attempting to watch the American star’s set from the vicinity of the stage.

Artist Thembi Seete verified that she had a confrontation with security guards, and feels that the U.S. artists look down on their peers from other countries.
“I want to thank Macufe organizers for allowing me to perform there, but what happened to me was unacceptable,” she explained to the Sunday World. “I wasn’t allowed to stand next to the stage when T-Pain was performing. It is sad that these U.S. artists think they are all that and [can] treat local artists the way they treated us.”

Seete’s manager Kgomo Modise said these issues are nothing new, and happen every time an international star makes their way to the country.

“My artist was seated next to the stage waiting to perform when local security guards came and ordered us to leave the vicinity,” Modise explained to Sunday World. “We asked him why because we had ‘all access’ cards and artists tags but he insisted we leave the place. It was only when we threatened to expose them in the media that they left us alone. It is bad that local artists are treated like this every time an international artist is here.”

Festival organizer Joe Chakela vehemently denied the accusations, but conceded there was a policy in place to make sure no artists remained on stage after a performance.

“People must not come with their own stories. Nobody was manhandled or chased away from the stage,” he stated. “The policy was that artists who had finished performing must not go on stage or near it to watch T-Pain perform.”

T-Pain is working on a new album, tentatively titled Revolver.

I Want To Work For Diddy pt 2

I have to admit, much as I tried NOT to follow another LUDICROUS venture from the Diddster, I just couldn't help myself! The lengths that some will go to to be hired as another Diddy foot soldier had me in stitches - Yes, I'm talking about 'I Want To Work For Diddy'. It's back!

I can't wait...ssssshhh don't tell anyone!

Swine Flu Jab

The swine flu jab is due to come into effect next week with 'priority patients' (at-risk patients, frontline health staff, asthmatics, the elderly) first in line to be immunised but the real question is which bright spark decided to play God this time?

The media representation of 'swine flu' has highlighted propaganda issues in it's clearest form. First, it's a worldwide threat that will kill millions, next it's reported a large number of swine flu deaths are in conjunction with 'health related issues' and now the vaccine is upon us, swine flu deaths are 100% 'not related to medical health issues' and we ALL need to be vaccinated. The medical industry, is first and foremost, a business and lucrative deals and extensive money can be made in 'supercures' but what cannot be guaranteed is your life. You can 'try and test' a million random people all over the globe but genetic make-up is one of a kind and what's good for the goose...

At the end of the day, it's your choice and that's the key...CHOICE!

Why the lies

We have been Bamboozled after all these years that the legendary Roxanne Shante has been leading us to believe that she is a doctor- and has found a way to excel beyond rap, using her talent and career to propel herself to even better measures; iconic and insipring to men and women alike- we have been giving the truth....SHE LIED..see for yourself

"It is very easy to criticize someone and I have left myself open to criticism," she said in an open letter. "All I can say to that is before you level any further criticism and cynicism, walk in my shoes. I am making this statement to apologize to the people that truly care about me for any angst that this situation has caused, and to thank them for their continued support...Like all of you, I am human and may have not made the correct decision all the time. And, like anyone else, I would like to think that my entire life or career is not judged by one error or mistake."

We understand Shante, but they say the truth shall set you free.

It's just an illusion...

If you, like me, were totally baffled by the Orange 'Monkey' ads then fret no more as I have the answer. Basically Orange name their tariffs after animals and the latest tariff to be released is 'The Monkey' hence the ads. Ah, I see your still confused! The bit about the 'hologram' performance by a number of the UK's rising stars perhaps? Well, again, I got you! Take it away 'Holographic N-Dubz'

Cool huh?

Too Far?

I hate flying, period! I hate flying EVEN MORE, when I have to worry about external stuff aside from dropping out of the sky and that fact that I'll drown instantly because i can only swim 5 metres or a pigeon getting stuck in a propeller, which leads to engine failure which leads to falling into the sea and the fact im going to drown coz I can only swim 5 metres...so thorough security checks are a huge thumbs up in my book as I can at least cross 'aeroplane potentially going up in terrorist flames' off my 'panic list'.

However, naked scanning? I'm not 100% comfortable with, I'm afraid. Basically as from today, Manchester airport has introduced an x-ray machine that enables security to see your naked body in order to spot any hidden exposives or dangerous weapons that may be tucked away in the 'nooks and crannies'. The scanned image will project a clear outline of your private parts as well as any body piercings, prosthetic parts or cosmetic surgery enhancements. Yes that's right! Everything will be on show! It's been 'said' that the images will be viewed in a private room by one officer who will then delete the image immediately once satisfied that no threat has been detected but let's be honest, what's the likelihood of that happening? Your bits and bobs could be all over the net in milli-seconds!

Is this taking it toooooo far?

Carol's Daughter

If you REALLY don't know about Carol's Daughter beauty line then you must be living underneath a rock that leads to an underground safehouse that has been cut off from the world since the dawn of time! Seriously! Carol's Daughter is a brand specifically designed with 'women of colour; in mind as far as the beauty and cosmetics side is concerned with a utopian twist with it's body and fragrance lines.

Your first encounter with a Carol's Daughter product is a moment you will never forget as long as you live! Mine took place in a Macy's on Jay St during, what I thought, was a standard shopping trip with my girls. One whiff of perfume fragrance, 'Almond Cookie' was all it took for the loive affair to begin and I've never looked back!

Carol's Daughter began in a kitchen by a Miss Lisa Price (Carol's Daughter) who was simply experimenting with fragrance, essential oils and natural moisturisers to make gifts for family and friends. The demand, from the off, was great and word of mouth alone led to a very successful mail order and internet based business. The rest as they say is history.

If I could provide you with smelly vision, I would so I'm afraid you are just going to have to check out the Carol's Daughter Official Website and take the word of me, Jada Pinkett and Mary J Blige!

Black Dynamite

This spoof 'blaxploitation' movie starring Arsenio Hall, Michael Jai White and Tommy Davidson ACTUALLY looks hella funny! Check out the trailer.

A sign of things to come?

Looks like the 'Sugababes' have fallen at the 1st hurdle. Scheduled to perform at a charity gig at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall, they were forced to 'pull out' due to 'contractual reasons' - apparently Jade Ewen is not officially a 'Sugababe' because she hasn't signed on the dotted line. Now, I'm a very strong believer in karma and so far in the space of a, like, a week there has been reported arguments and now this...I'm just saying! You reap what you sow, no?

I'm seriously loving this! Some smart-ass found a glitch in the Tiger Woods golf game and decided to publicise his find on youtube. EA Sports caught wind of it and made this ad as a response!
