Legal Troubles for J.D.

As if it isnt another, allegedly losing one of the sexiest women the world has ever seen, now this. LEGAL TROUBLE. 9 out 10 people's worst fears has come true for Jermaine Dupri. The SO SO Def CEO and longtime associate Da Brat have been sued by the waitress who was the victim in the assault that now has Brat incarcerated- which took place at JD's studio 72 in ATL

Shayla Stevens, a former Atlanta Falcons model, filed a civil lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court, claiming Da Brat hit her in the head with a champagne bottle causing serious injury. Stevens lawsuit claims Dupri, a promoter named Joseph London and security personnel failed to protect her from Da Brat during an altercation at a Halloween party October of 2007. Da Brat struck Stevens with a bottle of rum, causing permanent scars and nerve damage to Stevens' face.

In August of 2008, Da Brat pleaded guilty to Felony Aggravated Assault and was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison. Upon her release, Da Brat must also serve seven years of probation and perform 200 hours worth of community service.

Stevens, who is suing for an undisclosed amount, is represented by Stephen Apolinski.
