That messed up my day. I was perusing the album sales to date list and saw some good numbers such as the Queen Whitney( no disrespect to Mary J Blige) at about 800, ooo records sold- thats solid. Jay Z is at 1.3 million roughly, and Eminem doing his numbers at 1.5 million. We all know with the climate in music period, record sales arehard to come by. What disturbed me was the lack of support for Raekwon and Only Built For Cuban Links II; unacceptable. A classic album sequel- real rap at its best, Rae and Ghost in their zone, with a nice supporting cast. They gave us exactly what we asked for, and as a public we didnt show up for him and that stinks. What do we really want? For our best to stop making music- thats whats gonna happen if we keep this up. Music is made for the enjoyment, as well as kids get fed off the profits. Im sure you all can agree that you would refuse to not be paid at your job, right or wrong? How you think they feel. This is a job we are talking a about here- taxes paid and all. With that being said, support these artists, so they can do right by us and give us that prescription.
