'Scar'-red for Life!
Whilst taking in Saw V, LxEnts came across a trailer for a film called Scar-3D and was intrigued. A first of it's kind specially made 3D movie in a conventional cinema had to be seen to be believed as LxEnts were not convinced that this would be a hit! Bwoy! Never underestimate the power of 3D movies shown in places other than the IMAX coz this film was serious and very very deep and oh so appropriately titled as the LxEnts team are now 'scarred' for life! Forever!
With 3D glasses in hand (very kindly provided by Wandsworth Cineworld and rightly so coz where exactly do you go to buy 3D glasses anyways?), we brought some munchies, took our seats, put on our glasses way before necessary just for jokes and waited for the mayhem to begin! By the opening scene, ie the first scene, ie the beginning, ie before the opening credits, LxEnts were uber impressed but very, very shook...who would have thought a scene with a girl running towards camera, ie running towards you, would be so frightening? Trust me, when you ain't got a clue what's gonna happen next, you just hope that you don't embarrass yourself in front of your friends!
Without giving away too much, the plot is based around a girl, mentally and phsyically 'scarred' by a serial killer, her return to where it all happened and the strange going's on that occur as soon as she gets there! It's your typical horror movie synopsis BUT if you had trouble with the gore content in the Saw series then I don't know what to tell you because this film TAKES IT THERE and doesn't hold back, no sirree! One member of the LxEnts team saw more of the inside of her coat then the movie! We never thought we'd see the day!
The effects are amazing and you get a real sense of being 'in the moment' as it feels like you are a part of the environment and LxEnts would recommend that you go see as this is history in the making, baby! Before you know it, 3D films will be standard procedure and we'll look back at this review and wonder what all the hype was about anyway!
