Queen of the Indie Movement

Influenced by Hip Hop female icons such as Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill, and MC Lyte- Jewelz also considers her style to mirror that of Legends Nas, Kool G Rap, Scarface, and B.I.G, combining rhythm strong delivery sensuality and a strong no holds barred street edge which narrates love, pain, life, and soul. Pronounced Jay-E-Wells, born in the Bronx before spending time in Charlotte, N.C. during her H.S. years; rough times and dangerous decisions proved to round out her personality/ character and fueled her ambition to overcome and make her mark in the world as well as music.

Creativity has been in her veins since her infant years as Jewelz was a participant in dance groups and poerty writing. That became the motivation to want to start a career in the music industry. In 2000 she opened for Digital Underground and has maintained meaningful relationships in the industry ever since. She has worked with top tier producers such as D Block's Vinny Idol, Black Thumbs, and Massylum- whom is working on her forthcoming album.

On the performance Jewelz has rocked crowds all over- NYC to Switzerland to Germany, and is involved in the careers of numerous European artists through her imprint Hiz and Herz Entertainment as well as Hiz and Herz Multimedia International. In addition she won Best Female Rapper at the Undergound Music Awards in 2005. 91.9 Promo Radio and Rap Fanatic Magazine listed her as top female unsigned artist. Jewelz also offers the opportunity for up and coming artists to promote themselves through Mic'd Up, a monthly subscription wired to many in the industry.

Jewelz focus is on the expansion of her career as well as being an aid to others with the same goal, as she believes herself to be the REBIRTH OF FEMALE ARTISTRY
