This festival takes place at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. "Fancy a massive opportunity to spin tunes in front of a 1000-capacity clubnight at the Roundhouse? Here's your chance to perform your own set and join a hot list of DJs, bands and performers at Turning Point, a three-day festival running 8-10 May 09 organised by young people at the cutting edge of contemporary youth and street culture. You could be DJing alongside confirmed acts including Zane Lowe and The Qemists on Friday 8th May for our cabaret themed 16+ clubnight, with the exciting prospect of providing the soundtrack to live circus performances running throughout the night!
We are looking specifically for young emerging DJs who can create and perform a 1 hour DJ set from either CDs or vinyl to suit the cabaret atmosphere, with a sound to complement the circus performers. The sound can be created from a range of genres of the moment such as Dubstep, Grime and Dubstep, Tech House/House and Minimal, Garage/Bassline, Funky House or a mixture of the above. Elegant but edgy - it's a challenge we hope you'll relish!
